Open University

Open University (OU) is the lifelong learning program of The Shepherd’s Center of Richmond. Instructors are volunteers recruited from Richmond’s university and professional communities. Eight-week sessions are offered during the fall, winter and spring. OU meets Mondays at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 7757 Chippenham Pkwy, 23225, and Thursdays at First Presbyterian Church, 4602 Cary Street Rd, 23226. The cost is $45 per session for Shepherd’s Center members and $75 per session for non-members.


Lunch and Life

Lunch and Life is a lecture series presented in partnership with St. Mary Catholic Church. It is free and open to the public. No registration required. Four-week sessions are offered during the fall, winter and spring. Lunch and Life is held at St. Mary Catholic Church, 9505 Gayton Rd., Henrico, 23229. Lunch is from 12:00 – 12:30, lunch speakers are from 12:30 – 1:15.


Travel

Local one-day trips and overnight tours are offered to Shepherd’s Center members as well as the general public. Past participants have enjoyed plays at Wolf Trap, sight-seeing in New Bern, and touring historic Richmond.


Women’s Group

Join us at 2:30 pm on the second Thursday of most months in Room 218 of First Presbyterian Church, 4602 Cary Street Road. Members enjoy classroom speakers, monthly lunches, and occasional field trips. Free to Shepherd’s Center members.
